Bye 2008

In a few hours, we are going to say Bye Bye to Year 2008 and welcome Year 2009. Looking back, there have been a few changes in my life and I hope Year 2009 will be a better year for everybody. Here’s what I wish for in Year 2009.

- DS continue to be happy and healthy
- DS to put on some weight and grow taller
- DS to enjoy his new school life

As for me, I wish to have:
- A big fat bonus and salary increment *Dream on*
- Able to scale to a new height in my career or at least still have a career
- Spend more time with my family
- Wish for a number 2 (provided I can change my DH mindset first. Hahaha)
- More $$, good health and stay young

However, I think the most impt is to wish for the people around me to be safe, happy and healthy. Enjoy Year 2009. Cheers!!

Christmas celebration

Christmas was spent at my eldest sis place as it was her turn to hold our annual Christmas gathering. Sister ordered our lunch from Gelare and the food was yummy esp. the seafood pasta *Two thumbs up*. However, DS just don’t like the pasta and he managed to eat some pie and ham instead. DS was so happy playing with his cousin toys that even when I tried feeding him the ice-cream log cake, he just refused to eat and continue with his playing.

Soon, it was gift exchange session. DS this year has got two new sets of car toys series. As for me, I got a set of toiletries and a hand cream from my sisters (hope they like my gift too). We stayed till 4pm plus before proceeding to my SIL for another round of gift exchange session and makan session. This time round, our family received chocolates and for DS, he got himself a new book and a pack of flash cards. As DS had not have any nap earlier on, we decided to leave at around 10pm plus. I think DS had to much fun on that day as he kept having dreams and cried throughout the whole night which means I ended up with panda eyes the next day I went to work..

25th Milestone

DS is now 25th mth already and below are his little ‘achievement’ till date:

- Loves singing “Thomas and his friend” when he played with the train
- When you asked him “Where is mummy?” DS will reply “Mummy work work”
- Able to climb up and down the stairs without support
- Counts 1 – 10 in English and Chinese though his Chinese counting pronunciation is not so accurate.
- Recognize # as Okto icon as shown on TV (*faint* coz proof that he is true TV fanatic)
- Able to say and understand some simply Chinese and Hokkien language
- Able to jump with both his feet lifting the ground.
- Sleep without his pacifer
- Loves singing and dancing

DS now weighs around 12kg. Of course, he is still considered small built compare to his peers but PD said his weight is still ok. DS will be going to his playgroup soon in about 2 weeks plus. Can’t wait for him to start school and learn more things from there.

Sleeping without pacifier

After reading that Shannen & Ah Zheng are now able to sleep w/o their pacifier, it motivate me to try again and wane off Jayden this habit since we have tried previously without success. I am happy to announce that DS have been sleeping for the past 5 nights (05/12/08 – 09/12/08) w/o his pacifier and I hope he can continue to do so *Well-done boy* . Although, I can sense that he is still looking for the pacifier in the middle of the night but I have to ignore his cries and pat or rock him back to sleep.
Hope he can forgot about his pacifier and able to sleep soundly without his pacifier soon.

Sesame Street show

After reading from Ah Zheng blog on how interesting is the show, I told DH that we should bring DS to Marina Square to watch it too since yesterday (07/12/08) was the last performing show. So after DS woke up from his dreamland at 11am plus, we quickly got him ready hoping that we are able to make it for the 1pm show. But due to heavy traffic on the road, by the time we reached there, we only catch a glimpse of elmo before it ended. We could see DS was a bit sad so I told DH that we would have our lunch first and then queue for the 4pm show as the organizer said that queue would formed about 2pm plus.
We settled our lunch at the foodcourt and after that DH volunteered to stand in the queue so that I can bring DS for shopping first. So I brought DS to the kids play area to sit on those kiddy rides and before we knew it, DH asked us to come and joined him as they will be issuing the pass soon. Really glad that we managed to get the photo taking pass and our sitting view was good too.
At first, DS was quite distracted as he wanted to walk around but once, the show started, he began to enjoyed himself by dancing and singing and the moment Elmo appeared, he simply love him lor..Kept waving at him. Think DH effort for standing in the queue for 2hours did not come to a waste..kekeke. Anyway, after the show, it was photo-taking session but the guy who took the photo for us did not did a good job as the photo turns out blur *sad* But nevermind, since we got the chance to be up-close with Elmo.
After everything ended, we decided to proceed to my MD place @ Valley Park for the BBQ session as the sky was turning dark. DS was so tired that he fell asleep in the car again and luckily, there is a sofa at the function hall so that DS can continue his sleep while I help out with the preparation. Just when we got everything started, we began to feel the raindrops so we just have to bring everything to the function hall again and have dinner there. Luckily, the drizzling stop shortly and we carried all the stuff again back to the barbeque pit again to start our BBQ again. But naughty DS just refused to let us eat, he kept wanting to run here and there so we brought him to the playground to play for a while.
The night ended with our gift exchange session and I got a purple Esprit wallet and DS got himself a VCD which consist of Barney, Bod the Builder, Thomas & Friend and another character whom I don't know.. We left the place around 10pm plus and I was already very very tired.

Melting Pot Cafe @ Holiday Inn Hotel

I'm so full...Just came back from our buffet dinner @ Melting Pot Cafe which is located at Holiday Inn Hotel. Actually, per person is $30something++ but we got two complementary dinning vouchers so our family gets to dine for free (children below 5 is free).
At first, I wanted to let DS have his nap before we went out but DS just refused to sleep and he cried so much that he vomitted out all his lunch..so ended up, DS have to shower again and we decided that we should just leave the hse earlier even though the buffet dinner starts at 6.30pm. We were just roaming around that area when we saw some cars on display so DS just went around each car asking me to take photos for him *Faints*.
After DS phototaking session, we proceed to have our dinner. The spread variety is still ok and the food is not bad too..but what I like is the ambience as they have a 'Live' band to create the cozy feel. However, after DS finished his dinner, he was very grouchy and the moment DH carried him, DS fell asleep immediately and so we stayed there for a while before heading home. On our way back, we bypass Orchard Road and DS woke up just in time to see those lovely Christmas deco. Tomorrow is going to be a busy night too as we will be going to our MD place for BBQ plus gift exchange ;p

Mount Faber Park (29/11/08)

DH decided that since I wanted to do some Christmas shopping for our company gift exchange, we should go to Vivocity for my shopping spree (as there are many shops there). So off we went at around 3plus (since now DS refused to take his afternoon nap anymore) but on the way, DH saw the sign that shows the road to Mount Faber and suggested that we would go and take a look first. So off we went to Mount Faber Park and it was such a long walk from where we park our car…but it was really nice and scenic once we reached the peak. DS also have a fun time running around the park and it is there that DS started to climb up and down the flight of stairs himself without holding to anyone or anything. *well-done boy*

After resting and photo taking, we decided to walk down slowly to our car and DH then suggested to go to Tiong Bahru Plaza for dinner as it was already 5plus and since I have applied for the Thai Express card, we decided to have dinner there again. Just as we were back to go home, I saw a perfect gift for my colleague and 1 gift settled *happy coz did not went home empty handed* As DS did not take his nap earlier on, he slept all the way throughout our journey home…Here's some of the picture On our way up to the park DS posing for the camera Taken with DS DS loves walking round the park DS and a mini merlion Taking a break Dinner Time

Fun day in the park (23/11/08)

DS woke up ard 7 plus in the morning and started to ‘disturb’ me. But I ignored him and continued my sleep till an hour later to prepare milk for him. I then suggested to DH to bring DS to Pasir Ris Park playground as the weather was good and we haven’t been there for quite some time already. So after all the packing of our barang barang, we managed to leave the hse at 9am plus and reached there close to 10am.

DS loves the playground there because he gets to play the slide, swing, see-saw etc. After a while, we decided to take a stroll at the beach but DS wanted to go to the sea to play instead. So no choice, got to leave for Downtown East to have our lunch and redeem DS free kiddy train ride. After our yummy lunch at Mr. Chicken Rice, we went to redeem two tickets for train ride and DS of course likes sitting in the train and turning the steering wheel. We did not roamed around Downtown East as we were rushing back home because DS will be having his trial class at Seimpi Music School @ Hougang Mall with Rayden later in the afternoon.

So home we went and DS was so tired that he doze off while sitting beside me and even when we reached home, he was still sleeping soundly and I was so worried that he would not wake up on time. Luckily, after half an hour, he managed to wake up on his own and I quickly shower him before we left the house again. Reached there earlier than Shannen (for once) and I quickly went upstairs to register and pay the fees ($35) but due to a bit of miscommunication, we nearly couldn’t join in the clas. Luckily everything was sorted out and DS was so eager to go to the classroom. As there were many keyboards around, I had a hard time trying to get DS to sit still but once the teacher started singing, DS quickly join in and even DH who stood outside to peep, commented that DS seems to enjoyed himself very much. After all the singing, the teacher gave out some ice-cream sticks to all students for the theory lesson but DS just refused to follow the instruction and only interested in playing with the sticks (Rayden was such a good boy though as he can sit quietly with Shannen).

Shortly after, the teachers proceed with the practical lesson and the keyboard again distracted DS from concentrating and he just refused to follow my instruction. However the moment the teacher came, DS behaved himself again but since DS have not started school yet, I reckon that he still have no basic concept on what to expect in classes (eg, to follow teacher instruction, sit still etc). Anyway, he will have plenty of time to learn..Hahaha. After classes, we roamed around the mall for a while before we went to PIL place for dinner again. What a busy Sunday!! Pics of the day..
